Students enrolled in the College’s bachelor’s degree program will study management and leadership in the food and restaurant business. You’ll focus on all the major aspects of restaurant and foodservice management while also learning the business principles behind every decision. Those principles include staffing, purchasing, marketing and financial practices specific to the foodservice industry.

As a student in this program, you will be:

  • Prepared to excel in leadership roles within the food service industry, emphasizing business operations, technology, staffing management, sustainable revenue and profits, and exceptional customer service.
  • Manage and foster employee and customer experiences through a focused study on best practices in management and leadership.
  • Apply financial formulas and ratios specific to the restaurant industry to foster sustainable revenues and profits and assist with capital planning

You’ll also have the option to use your bachelor’s degree as leverage for gaining additional education or certification that will support your career path. Some options include certifications for Hotel Administrator, Certified Food & Beverage Executive, or Certified Executive Pastry Chef.

Students looking to pursue a career in culinary arts will need to hone their skills in various cooking methods and styles. Where Is The Culinary Arts Program Available?

The Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ Culinary Arts Associate Degree program is available at the main campus in Scranton.

Q: Does Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ have a culinary arts program?

Yes. Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ offers a two-year, 73-credit Associate Degree in Culinary Arts at its Scranton Main Campus. Cohorts are limited to 15 students and the program prepares graduates to earn ServSafe Managers Certification and Responsible Alcohol Management Program (RAMP) certification as part of the curriculum.

The Associate Degree in Culinary Arts is offered exclusively at the Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ Main Campus in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

The Associate Degree in Culinary Arts is a two-year, 73-credit program.

Students earn ServSafe Managers Certification (issued by the National Restaurant Association) and Responsible Alcohol Management Program (RAMP) certification (issued by the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board) as part of the program.

The Culinary Arts program carries a $475 per semester program fee on top of standard Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ tuition. 95% of Lackawanna students receive financial aid.

Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­’s Culinary Arts program runs on rolling admissions with year-round recruitment and enrollment. New cohorts begin at the start of the Fall semester. Contact Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ Admissions for the current application timeline.
